What are the responsibilities and job description for the Occupational Therapist for PreK-5 position at Hartford School District?
The Hartford School District is seeking a registered/licensed Occupational Therapist to work primarily within the White River School with students PreK-5th grade. This position also requires some time providing services to identified students in some of the community PreK programs in our district. The therapist will provide direct services, as well as consultation services with the educational teams. The OT will work with students of all age ranges on motor skills, self regulation, sensory modulation, self care, activities of daily living (ADL), assistive technology application, and visual perceptual skill development.
Our ideal candidate will have their ATP or a Graduate Certification in Assistive Technology, experience working extensively within the educational setting, and have an understanding of school based accommodations and environmental modification, including school tools that promote student independence within the classroom setting, and regulation techniques that can be applied in group settings. Any Occupational Therapist with interest in expanding their knowledge and expertise in these areas who is dedicated to continuing education and has a strong work ethic to meet student’s needs is encouraged to apply.
