Long Term Substitute for 3rd Grade Classroom

The Ottauquechee School in Hartford, VT seeks a dynamic and dedicatedlong-term substitute teacher for a 3rd Grade classroom from Novemberthrough March 2026.We are a PreK-5 school with an enrollment of nearly 200 students and ahighly collaborative culture. We believe that all students can achieve morethan they imagine possible across the dimensions of skills and knowledge,character, and high-quality work, and we support all students to becometheir own authentic versions of effective learners and ethical people whocontribute to a better world. In order to build a sense of belonging for alllearners, we center the use of equity-centered, culturally responsive andtrauma-informed practices. Our teachers infuse inquiry into all disciplines,build scholars capacity for higher order thinking, prioritize student-engagedassessment, use data to inform instruction, and above all, model and fostera growth mindset.The ideal candidate will have student-centered classroom managementskills, experience in implementing inclusive practices, knowledge ofelementary research-based instructional and assessment practices, theability to collaborate with colleagues, a willingness to learn, and anelementary teaching credential.The Ottauquechee School, in alignment with Hartford School Districts orientations, and that a diverse and culturally competent faculty is essentialin the creation of a rigorous learning environment free of bias andinequities.
