Catholic Academy of Waterbury (CAW), a Catholic elementary school, is searching for a full-time Grade5 teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. Responsibilities would include creating an engaging learning environment that fosters academic and spiritual growth, develops first grade students’ skills and a love of learning. The candidate should be competent at instructing fifth graders and ensuring their spiritual and academic growth.
In addition, the candidate must be able to:
Develop and implement daily lesson plans that address spiritual, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth.
Use diverse instructional techniques such as modeling, observing, questioning, demonstrating, and reinforcing.
Adapt curriculum to meet individual learning needs and initiate referrals when necessary.
Promote positive behavior through redirection, positive reinforcement, and adherence to the school’s behavioral policies.
Maintain positive communication with families through newsletters, daily updates, and as-needed outreach.
Attend regular staff meetings and participate in annual reviews and professional development.
Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.
Assist students who may need additional support.
