Custodian

The School District of Hartford Jt. #1 is looking for a dedicated and reliable custodian to join our facilities team. The School District of Hartford Jt. 1 is a 4K-8th Grade district located northwest of Milwaukee in scenic Washington County. Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Knowledge of general cleaning procedures and practices
• Ability to work independently and manage assigned responsibilities
• Be able to work collaboratively and positively with students, staff, and the public

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Maintain a clean and safe environment by cleaning classrooms, hallways, restrooms, offices and other building areas
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors and carpets
• Perform minor repairs and assist with preventative maintenance activities
• Set up and clean up for school events and activities
• Assist with seasonal work including snow removal and grounds upkeep as needed
• Monitor building conditions and report maintenance or safety concerns
• Help maintain building security during assigned shifts
• Operate custodial equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, and other cleaning tools (training provided)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and work for extended periods of time
• Frequent walking, bending, lifting, and reaching
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing a minimum of 50 pounds
