JOB SUMMARY
Supports the needs of the Surgical Services Department by coordinating and maintaining an efficient and cost-effective surgical schedule. The Surgical Services Scheduler assists with coordinating requested equipment, supplies and services.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
Two years of experience in a hospital or medical related field with use of computers and data entry functions.
Language Skills
Fluent in English
Preferred Requirements
Experience
Two to four years of experience in a hospital or medical related field with advanced knowledge of computers and data entry functions
Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements
Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information
Working knowledge of medical terminology to include CPT codes and ICD codes
Accurate grammar, spelling and punctuation skills necessary
Proficient computer skills to include working knowledge of Windows based software, including word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs.
Demonstrate strong customer service skills and has excellent interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with departments, employees, physicians and managers.
Ability to work in stressful environment and demonstrate the ability to handle multiple priorities.
