Program Description
The Student Surgical Technologist (SST) Fellowship is a paid opportunity designed for surgical technology students to enhance their clinical readiness through additional observational and hands-on learning experiences.
This 12-week program runs from February 9, 2026 through May 1, 2026, and provides fellows with structured exposure to the perioperative environment. Participants will engage in guided observational experiences to develop a broader understanding of perioperative services, along with direct clinical learning under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Certified Surgical Technologist.
Throughout the fellowship, SST fellows will receive ongoing mentorship and support from members of the Perioperative Professional Development Team. Over the course of the 12 weeks, fellows are expected to complete a minimum of 40 hours of fellowship activities outside of their academic coursework and clinical rotations.

Qualifications
Application Requirements:
- Surgical technology student currently enrolled in the Hartford Hospital/CT State Community College program with a projected graduation in May 2026.
- Complete online application.
