Job Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care in office consultations, including assessment, workups, triage, emergency work-ins, and other patient care activities
- Obtains and documents health history, performs and documents physical exam, and orders and interprets diagnostic tests
- Provides counseling to patients regarding diagnosis and expected course of treatment
- Obtain Consents for Smart pill and Manometry procedures
- Scrub MD scheduled to add follow ups
- IT liaison for MMC and SVMC ex. Missing studies and shared drive issues
- Attend staff meetings on Motility Orders Workflow Ex. Outside referrals/orders placed incorrectly
- Manage triaged inbox messages ex. med refills
- Read and interpret breath tests
- Provide education for Motility Spreadsheet
- Attend weekly meetings with MDs to discuss complex patients
Qualifications
Master’s degree in nursing
- National Certification in Advanced Practice and current CPR certification
- Current State of CT APRN license with prescriptive authority and current DEA number & 100% attendance to maintain annual mandatory skill updates
- 2 years of experience in general surgery/colorectal surgery, ambulatory surgery or acute care setting for surgical care preferred
- Excellent clinical management skills and proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take lead when appropriate
