Harter Secrest & Emery LLP is seeking an individual to join the Human Resources team in providing support to attorneys, paralegals and staff throughout the firm.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provides routine administrative support to members of the HR team including expense reports, department invoices, budget tracking and prepares quarterly and annual HR reports
- Audits weekly time entries, tracks time off requests, communicates daily call-in information
- Coordinates paralegal and administrative performance review processes
- Provides recruiting support including application and resume review, coordinates candidate interviews; prepares and distributes interview materials, and schedules interviews
- Drafts offer letters and prepares new hire materials; creates and schedules new employee orientation
- Enters new employees and updates general employee information in HR information system
- Assists with planning and implementation of employee communication and education sessions
- Coordinates the recognition and service anniversary programs
- Reviews and audits required employer notices and posts on applicable bulletin boards
- Files documents and correspondence; prepare files for storage and maintains inventory of offsite materials
- Provides backup to offsite records retrieval and supply ordering
- Assists members of the Human Resources team with special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field
- Ability to work effectively with a variety of staff with a client service orientation and handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; ability to respond to multiple priorities and plan work to meet varying deadlines
- Ownership of projects, ability to anticipate group needs
- Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate
- Ability to work independently, plan work and organize multi-stage projects, implement individual tasks and complete assignments with minimal direction
- Attention to detail; skill in proofreading documents
- Strong technology skills, including Word, Excel, HRIS and Outlook
