Residential Coordinator for CRS Quentin and CRS Meadowbrook

Outline of Responsibilities:

A.      PROGRAMATIC – Develop and implement programs for each resident

1.  Aware of all current resident programs, ensuring their implementation and that all records are up to date and accurate.

2.  Act as a resident advocate.

3.  Teach and supervise residents and actual hands-on performance of tasks, which include, but are not limited to, the following areas:

                   A.  Personal hygiene (toileting, bathing, shaving, etc.)

B.  Living skills (dressing, cooking, laundry, cleaning, etc.)

                   C.  Survival skills (evacuation, travel, phone usage, etc.)

                   D.  Leisure activities (hobbies, outside recreation, etc.)

                   E.  Medication (storage, dispensing, record keeping, etc.)

                   F.   Health (self care, examinations, etc.)

                   G.  Socialization (in-house, public, peers, etc.)

4.  Responsible for all financial activities that involve the residents and the house. Conduct/troubleshoot guardian inquiries around resident       finances. Maintain security of and proper use of all agency & resident’s credit cards, cash and checks.

5.  Make certain that all residents have food, clothing, and other daily living items in sufficient quantity and quality.

6.  Attend all ISP meetings, vocational ISP meetings and court dates and supply input.

7.  Prepare for and facilitate all residents’ IP meetings to include skills assessments, residential reports, obtaining consents, etc.

8.  Ensure many and varied recreational activities are planned and attended.

9.  Monitor and participate in the proper dispensing of medications and accurate record keeping.

10.  Arrange for fire drills, alarm, sprinkler and fire marshal inspections and e-scores surveys and take any necessary steps to make sure that all residents & staff can evacuate safely.

11. Accomplish any additional requirements to ensure quality of care, and/or duties as assigned by the agency.

12. Monthly review of all documentation records for accuracy and completion.

13. Ensure all DDS regulations are being followed

 

B.                STAFFING

1. Supervise staff working on the premises.  This includes, but is not limited to:

A.  Involvement in the interviewing of applicants.

B.  Ensure Safety Committee representation from houses.

C.  Orientation of Staff to sites.

D.  Teaching and indoctrination of staff (initial & on-going).

E.  Initiating disciplinary action as needed.

F.  Initiating internal letters of commendation as needed.

G.  Advocate to the Residential Director for staff needs.

H.  Evaluate and write up performance evaluations for staff.

I.   Train staff in Worker’s Compensation and work with the office’s Worker’s Compensation Liaison.

J.   Review and process payroll and mileage reimbursement weekly.

K.  Coordinate staffing for the worksite, including approval of time off requests.

 

2.  Ensure adequate coverage at all times, including on-call responsibilities.

3. Delegate all necessary duties for the smooth operation of a group home in an efficient manner. (And oversee to ensure ongoing completion.

4.  Create and foster a positive, safe, professional work environment.

5.  Accomplish any additional requirements needed to develop a stable, well -trained staff.

 

C.  PHYSICAL PLANT

1.  In coordination with maintenance personnel, contract for all repairs in a cost-effective and timely manner.

2.  Arrange for the purchase of all needed supplies, groceries, etc., always looking to get the best quality for the lowest price.

3. Conduct ongoing safety checks, ensuring the cleanliness, safety and comfort of the home.

4.  Develop systems to reduce or maintain all utility costs.

5.  Prevent misuse, including personal use, of all agency property.

6.  Act creatively for the improvement of all agencies owned or leased properties.

7.  Accomplish any additional duties needed to maintain a clean, comfortable, and pleasant home environment for the residents of HART.

                           

D.  OTHER

1.  Attend all mandatory in-services.

2.  Respect the confidentiality, privacy, and human rights of all residents.

3.  Act as a positive role model to all staff and residents.

4.  Perform all necessary and assigned paperwork.

5.  Attend all meetings and seminars pertinent to the operation of the home.

6.  Direct care responsibilities, medical liaison responsibilities and Assistant Residential Coordinator responsibilities as required.

7.  Participate in the DDS licensing process, including plan of corrections.

8.  Perform other related duties as requested by the Area Residential Director and/or the Executive Director.

9.  Orient all employees and provide continuing educational programs.

10.  Participate in hazard identification programs, maintaining a safe environment for the residents and the staff. Maintain, review, and investigate all accident/incident reports.

11.  Report significant findings and provide recommendations to Administrative staff and other involved departments.

12. Act as a representative of the agency and provide positive customer service to DDS employees, guardians/family members & community members.

13.  Maintain/obtain computer skills and assist/train staff in use of the agency computers and any web-based programs utilized.

14. Maintain knowledge of and ensure adherence to all HART/DDS policies and procedures.
