Hart’s Turkey Farm Restaurant is a third-generation, family-owned and operated restaurant and caterer located in the heart of New Hampshire’s Lakes Region. For generations, we’ve built our reputation on great food, genuine hospitality, and a commitment to doing things the right way.
We’re looking for an experienced, motivated Production Cook to join our culinary team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who takes pride in scratch cooking, enjoys working as part of a team, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
Our Production Cooks play an important role in the success of Hart’s restaurant, catering operation, and satellite kitchens, producing everything from proteins and soups to sauces, sides, vegetables, and other components that make their way to guests throughout our operation.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare a wide variety of hot and cold food items with consistency, accuracy, and attention to quality.
- Produce proteins, side dishes, soups, sauces, dressings, vegetables, and other menu items for both restaurant and catered service.
- Prepare the majority of products from scratch using Hart’s recipes and established culinary standards.
- Accurately follow recipes and production specifications, including adjusting measurements and yields when necessary.
- Coordinate large-scale food preparation efficiently while maintaining high standards for quality and presentation.
- Assist with and provide guidance to other team members during food preparation and production.
- Work efficiently to meet daily production schedules and deadlines.
- Follow direction from kitchen leadership and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Evaluate the quality, freshness, and condition of ingredients throughout the production process.
- Monitor finished products to ensure consistency, quality, proper portioning, and adherence to Hart’s standards.
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and sanitary work environment at all times.
- Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Assist with weekly and monthly inventory counts.
- Be a dependable, positive presence on the kitchen team and contribute to a culture of teamwork and hospitality.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous professional kitchen experience required; formal culinary training may be considered equivalent.
- Strong understanding of basic culinary techniques and food preparation.
- Ability to read, understand, and accurately execute recipes.
- Ability to scale recipes and convert measurements for different production quantities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistency.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume production environment.
- Team-oriented attitude with a willingness to jump in and help wherever needed.
- Reliable, hardworking, and motivated with a positive attitude.
- ServSafe certification preferred, or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
