SUMMARY: The Assistant Project Engineer will assist the Project Engineer and Project Management team in reviewing submittals, technical data, and shop drawings for HVAC systems and equipment. This individual will help maintain organized project documentation, support design review efforts, and provide technical assistance to field project managers throughout the construction process.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Assist in the review and processing of HVAC submittals, shop drawings, and technical data sheets.
- Support the Project Engineer in document organization and tracking of project deliverables.
- Help evaluate equipment selections and verify compliance with project specifications.
- Participate in design review and coordination meetings with engineers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Provide technical assistance to field project managers and site teams as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project records using company systems and platforms.
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to resolve technical discrepancies.
- Assist with project closeout documentation and as-built record management.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, and 1-3 years of experience in HVAC systems, construction, or engineering support, or a similar combination of education and experience.
- Basic understanding of HVAC systems, components, and mechanical design principles is necessary.
- Experience with project coordination software such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360, or similar.
- Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, or other design platforms preferred.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Eagerness to learn, problem-solve, and grow within a technical project environment.
WORK LOCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- This position requires full-time, on-site presence at our Miami, FL (33186) offices.
- The standard schedule is Monday - Friday
