Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the dental team with various clinical and administrative tasks. We are in office Monday-Thursday 7-3:30.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
- Take and develop X-rays, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Utilize 3D scanners for precise imaging and documentation.
- Maintain accurate patient records using dental software such as Softdent.
- Perform basic laboratory tasks, including impressions and temporary crowns.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and processing medical coding when necessary.
Requirements
- Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Proficiency in using dental technology, including 3D scanners and X-ray equipment.
- Familiarity with dental software systems such as Softdent is a plus.
- Knowledge of medical coding practices is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn new skills related to endodontics and other dental specialties.
