Scoreboard, Stats & Support Rec Staff

The Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center (JCC) seeks candidates for Scoreboard, Stats & Support Rec Staff are responsible for running the scoreboard, keeping accurate track of statistics, and helping to facilitate gameplay in both youth and adult sports leagues and programs.

These positions will start early Novemmber. Scheduled hours and days may vary within the following times:

• Sundays – 8:00-4:00pm
• Other as needed

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assemble/Disassemble the scoreboard as appropriate
• Run the scoreboard including setting time, pausing, scorekeeping
• Keep accurate track of game statistics including but not limited to overall game score, points, rebounds, free throws, fouls, etc.
• Facilitate game play/act as referee for youth leagues with participants 12 and under
• Support Umpires, Referees & Recreation Staff with program set up, take down, checking equipment, ball retrieval, etc. as needed.
• Arrive on time and in designated JCC Staff uniform with nametag and whistle.
• Communicate with Recreation Manager/Recreation Staff regarding any participant achievement, questions, or concerns.
• Attend all required trainings and in-services.
• Know and understand ALL emergency procedures associated with the class/program and the agency.
• Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with the all-program areas. This includes but is not limited to being responsible for your participants’ safety and their whereabouts at all times.
• Uphold the mission and values of the JCC at all times.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements (KSA’s)

Possess knowledge of:

• Basic sports rules and regulations
• Statistics
• Scorekeeping
• Sports equipment

Demonstrate skills in:

• Communication
• Flexibility

Possess the ability to:

• Follow all JCC policies and procedures
• Be sensitive to cultural differences
• Demonstrate flexibility and enthusiasm in work
• Effectively manage time
• Work successfully with a team as well as independently

• Ensure that an environment which fosters maximum physical, social, cognitive and emotional development of children is developed and maintained

Education and/or Experience

1. Scoreboard, Stats & Support Rec Staff must be 15 years of age or older
