Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC components using schematics and electronic testing tools.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacement, wheel alignments, and general vehicle inspections to ensure safety and reliability.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform electrical repairs on vehicles and equipment with a focus on automotive diagnostics and electrical experience.
- Assemble new equipment or parts following technical specifications and schematics to ensure proper fitment and function.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks using appropriate lifting equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed service records documenting repairs performed, parts used, and diagnostic findings for each vehicle or piece of equipment.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair needs clearly and ensuring timely completion of work orders.
- Follow safety guidelines diligently during all maintenance activities to promote a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Diesel Technician in a dealership.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, brakes, shocks & struts.
- Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex machinery issues.
- Hands-on experience with automotive repair tools including hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and diagnostic scanners.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining precision during repairs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance tasks.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and providing exceptional customer service when interacting with clients or operators.
