Panther Martin, a Port Jefferson based nationwide seller of fishing lures seeks an experienced warehouse operations manager to supervise shipping, receiving and packaging operations.
Skills required
- Fluency in Microsoft Excel for planning and forecasting
- Spanish & English fluency
- Previous Experience in Management of warehousing and shipping operations
- The ability to evaluate day-today operations and proactively identify and recommend opportunities to improve workflow, speed, efficiency, and overall productivity.
Responsibilities
- Report Panther Martin Vice President on the status of
- Orders in production
- Packaging material in inventory
- Oversee a blister packaging operation to package products for retail
- Manage purchasing of packaging materials
- Oversee receiving of incoming merchandise and packaging material. Supervise the physical organization of items in the warehouse
- Anticipate future product needs in coordination with general manager
- Manage both wholesale and ecommerce shipping
- Wholesale orders can require substantial preplanning and sometimes require days or weeks to process
- Ecommerce orders are much smaller but need to ship quite rapidly.
- Coordinate with Vice President to set realistic output capabilities for ecommerce as late shipments can result in substantial penalties with platforms such as Amazon
- In coordination with HR, manage a staff of 10 warehouse workers
- Supervise employee attendance
- Manage efficiency and productivity
- Oversee and coordinate yearly physical count Inventory
