Director of Operations

Harrison Gray Search
Los Angeles, CA Full Time
POSTED ON 5/4/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 6/1/2026

The Opportunity

Our client is a premier, 35-year-old independent Wealth Management firm in Los Angeles known for its objective, empathetic approach to financial planning. We are seeking a strategic Director of Operations to serve as the architect of the firm's internal infrastructure.

This is a high-visibility leadership role. You will be the bridge between executive vision and firm-wide execution, tasked with modernizing the technology stack, refining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and scaling human capital. If you thrive on turning complexity into streamlined efficiency and possess a deep understanding of the RIA landscape, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Excellence: Audit, centralize, and institutionalize SOPs across all departments to ensure scalability, consistency, and risk mitigation.
  • Tech Stack Optimization: Evaluate the current fintech ecosystem; lead the selection, implementation, and integration of new technologies to drive firm-wide automation.
  • Data Integrity & Governance: Spearhead rigorous data audits and maintain a culture of "clean data" to support accurate reporting and business intelligence.
  • Strategic Leadership: Act as the primary intermediary between the executive team and staff, ensuring firm-wide alignment with long-term growth objectives.
  • Talent & Performance: Oversee performance management frameworks, conduct reviews, and strategically forecast hiring needs to support the firm’s expansion.

Qualifications

  • Industry Expertise: 5 years of experience in Financial Services required; specific experience within an RIA environment is highly preferred.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced operational certification (e.g., Six Sigma, PMP) is a significant plus.
  • Technical Acumen: Proven track record of managing and enhancing complex technology stacks and leading digital transformations.
  • Decision-Making: A data-driven mindset with the ability to make high-stakes decisions based on metrics, facts, and logic.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal communication skills; the ability to mentor a team while effectively "managing up" to executive leadership.
  • The "Builder" Mindset: An entrepreneurial spirit suited for a fast-paced environment where you are expected to be both a high-level strategist and a hands-on problem solver.

Why Join the Firm?

Our client prides itself on a culture that balances three decades of stability with the agility of a modern boutique firm.

  • Competitive Pay: $150k–$200k base with additional performance-based incentives.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: 401(k) matching and premium Medical Insurance.
  • Work-Life Integration: A flexible hybrid schedule based in a premier Los Angeles office location.
  • Legacy of Impact: Join a team that values empathy and life-factor planning as much as portfolio performance.

By providing truly independent services and cultivating lifelong relationships, they have proven themselves exceptional advisors in life and wealth. They are unconstrained by proprietary products, allowing for a collaborative, tailored relationship with every client.
