JOB SUMMARY: The Harrisburg School District is seeking dedicated and reliable individuals to join our team as School Bus Drivers. Bus drivers play a vital role in the district's daily operations by ensuring that students are transported safely and efficiently to and from school.
Harrisburg School District operates on a four-day school week (Monday–Thursday), with some Friday workdays as needed. The position has a start time of 6:30 a.m., and scheduled hours will be determined based on district needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport students to and from school, field trips, and other district-sanctioned events.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in good operating condition.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and school district policies.
- Monitor student behavior on the bus, ensuring a safe and respectful environment.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
- Report any mechanical issues, delays, or accidents to the appropriate authorities promptly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a School Bus (S) endorsement.
- Clean driving record with no history of major violations.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, reliability, and a genuine interest in working with children.

SALARY RANGE: $23.22-$31.26 per hour. Placement on the salary schedule will be commensurate with experience.
BENEFITS: Employer paid insurance CAP to assist with health, dental and vision premiums, employer paid Basic Life and AD&D policies. Two (2) days of personal leave, ten (10) days sick leave, seven (7) paid holidays, and PERS retirement contribution. Applicable benefits will be prorated for the remainder of the school year.
