2025-26 Head Girls Soccer Coach (open until filled)

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:   High School Diploma or GED.  Bachelor’s degree in Education preferred.

Experience:   One year of previous coaching experience required; in the sport assigned is preferred.  One year of High School head coaching preferred.

Physical Requirements:   Eye-hand, mind-eye coordination, physical dexterity, the ability to bend, stoop, walk, talk, and sit.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.

Other Requirements:   Successful completion of First Aid for Coaches and Fundamentals of Coaching or their equivalents as defined by South Dakota High School Activities Association or a coaching endorsement from the SD Department of Education received before 2000.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES:

1. Responsible for the assigned program at all levels grades 9-12.
2. Coaches the varsity squad.
3. Assists Activities Director in selection and evaluation of High School assistant coaches.
4. Supervises High School assistant coaches.
5. Provides guidance to Middle School coaches and programs feeding into High School.
6. Determines athlete participation during practice and games to include squad level and playing time.
7. Operates within District, Conference, and SDHSAA policies.
8. Supervises students while in locker rooms, play areas, and remains with students while traveling.
9. Provides first aid when necessary.
10. Maintains, issues, and inventories equipment.
11. Assists the Activities Director in coordinating physical examinations, scouting, practice schedules, clinics, and making arrangements for out of town trips.
12. Assists the Activities Director with the budgeting and material requisition process.
13. Works closely with media to encourage favorable public interest.
14. Attends conference meetings and other meetings as required.
15. Completes paperwork as required including, but not limited to awards lists and attendance reports.
16. Responsible for coordinating fundraising activities with Activities Director.
17. Responsible for the maintenance of the Trust & Agency Account.
18. Performs other duties as assigned.
