We are seeking a motivated and caring Direct Support Professional to join our team. - Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patients’ health by taking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and safety
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with cooking to meet individual dietary needs
- Maintain cleanliness of the living environment through light housekeeping and sanitation tasks
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance
- Document care activities accurately, including patient monitoring, progress notes, and incident reports
Requirements
- Prior experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home health care preferred
- Knowledge of patient care techniques including Alzheimer's care, dementia care, autism support, and hospice care
- Certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional certifications like HIPAA training are a plus
- Ability to work with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities with patience and compassion
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and safety checks
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with mobility tasks safely
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and families
