Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes promptly to healthcare professionals
- Support medication administration in accordance with care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient safety
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal service to promote proper nutrition
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts and manage heavy lifting tasks safely to prevent injury
- Maintain cleanliness of residents’ living spaces, including cleaning rooms, common areas, and medical equipment to uphold hygiene standards
- Document care activities accurately in compliance with HIPAA guidelines and facility policies
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, group homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is advantageous
- Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, and HIPAA compliance are required or highly desirable
- Ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing disabilities or cognitive impairments while demonstrating patience and empathy
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and reporting changes in condition promptly
- Physical stamina for activities involving heavy lifting and assisting residents with mobility needs
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and support residents’ social well-being
