What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Programmer & Machining Transformation Specialist position at Harris Manufacturing Solutions?
About Us:
At Harris Manufacturing Solutions, we’re not just machining parts—we’re reinventing the way a modern aerospace machine shop runs. For 50 years we’ve built precision and trust into every project. Now we’re rebuilding our foundation: modular pallets, automation, inline inspection, and lights-out machining. We need a leader who can help us architect the next era.
The Role:
We’re seeking a hands-on CNC Programmer / Machining Specialist who thrives at the intersection of programming, setup, fixturing, and tooling. This isn’t a “keyboard-only” role—you’ll program, set up, and run jobs while guiding our transition to a fully modular, automated, and future-ready shop.
What You’ll Do:
- Program CNC machines (Catia, Mastercam, Fusion 360) with precision and efficiency
- Lead setups, fixturing, and tooling standardization across modular pallet systems
- Drive adoption of pallet pool systems, cobots, and inline inspection for lights-out machining
- Collaborate with leadership to rebuild our shop foundation—interchangeable, scalable, and future-proof
- Mentor operators and machinists, building a culture of pride, precision, and continuous improvement
What We’re Looking For:
- 5 years CNC programming and setup experience (aerospace or high-precision preferred)
- Strong knowledge of fixturing, modular pallets, and tooling optimization
- Experience with automation (pallet pools, cobots, inline inspection) a plus
- Humility and leadership—willing to program, set up, and get hands-on while guiding others
- Critical thinker who sees beyond “lowest price” vs. “highest quality” and understands ROI
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary: $75k–$90k depending on experience, with the upper end reserved for candidates who deliver automation and lights‑out machining impact.
- Full benefits package (health, retirement, PTO, 401k)
- Opportunity to lead a once-in-a-generation transformation of a machine shop
- A culture that values stewardship, pride, and legacy
Why Join Us:
This is more than a job—it’s a chance to architect the future of aerospace machining. You’ll have the freedom to innovate, the support to execute, and the pride of knowing you’re building something that lasts.
Salary : $75,000 - $90,000
