Job description
Harris Investment Group is seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join the finance team at the firm’s headquarters in Provo, Utah. Your role will primarily involve overseeing the loan origination process for portfolio assets; mainly multifamily real estate and gas station/truck stop assets. Although no prior experience is needed, the ideal candidate will be self-motivated and highly organized in order to fulfill the job requirements. This role will report to the Chief Investment Officer.
How will you spend your time?
While this role may evolve and expand over time, today it will include:
- Deal Consultation: Engage with other members of the team to understand the financial needs and objectives of each deal.
- Loan Application Management: Manage the entire loan application process, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation. Collect necessary financial information and conduct thorough assessments.
- Relationship Building: Develop and nurture strong relationships with lenders to generate new business opportunities.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all loan applications comply with company policies, industry regulations, and lending guidelines. Conduct due diligence to mitigate risk and maintain high standards of integrity.
- Documentation and Processes: Seek to create, maintain and improve processes, procedures, and overall documentation as it relates to the loan lifecycle.
- Market Analysis: Stay current with market trends, interest rates, and competitive lending products. Provide the company with up-to-date information and recommendations based on market conditions.
- Pipeline Management: Oversee a pipeline of loan applications, tracking progress, and maintain clear communication with stakeholders throughout the process. Address any issues or concerns promptly to facilitate a smooth closing.
Position Qualifications
- Experience: Although no specific prior experience is required, this individual should be well-versed with computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Excel), and have a background education in business.
- Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Relevant certifications are a plus.
- Travel: Ability to travel and attend industry related conferences 1-2 times per year. Possibility for more travel when required to make and maintain key relationships.
