Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Heavy Haul Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating large, specialized trucks to transport heavy and oversized loads across various routes. Your expertise in handling different trailer types—including Dual lanes , Cozad , perimeter trailer , 13 axle trailers , RGN and step deck —will ensure timely and secure deliveries. Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers and heavy-duty trucks, including Dual lane , Cozad , Goldhofer , 13 axle Perimeter and steerable Trailers , adhering to all safety regulations and company policies
- Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or manual methods, ensuring cargo integrity and security
- Plan routes effectively to optimize delivery times while complying with road regulations and weight restrictions for heavy loads
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, trailer, and load to identify maintenance needs or safety issues
- Secure loads properly using straps, chains, or other securing devices to prevent shifting or damage during transit
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, cargo details, and delivery documentation in compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations
- Communicate proactively with dispatchers regarding route changes, delays, or safety concerns during deliveries
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on heavy haul operations and route driving
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements for manual transmission operation and hauling specialized loads such as RGN's , Dual Lanes and Steerable Trialers
- Demonstrated ability to operate various trailer types including Dual lanes , Cozad ,perimeter , 13 axle , RGN's , and occasionally stepdeck loads
- Prior experience with freight load securing techniques and equipment handling (forklifts or manual methods) preferred
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to heavy hauling and transportation regulations
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as loading/unloading cargo and inspecting equipment regularly
