Job Summary
The Cath Lab Radiologic Technician II collaborates with physicians, nurses and other clinical disciplines to provide care to patients undergoing procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab. The Cath Lab Radiologic Tech II assists with the preparation and operation of the radiology equipment during procedures in the catheterization lab suite and ensures that: needed supplies are available; all equipment is functioning properly and set-up correctly prior to the beginning of each case. The Cath Lab Radiologic Tech II works under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse and serves as a preceptor to clinical staff and students.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education/Licensure/Specialized Training:
- Education: Associate of Applied Science: Graduated from an accredited school of Radiologic Technology. The accreditation agency must be recognized by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Licensure/Certification: Medical Radiologic Technologist License by the Texas Medical Board (TMB); Radiologic Technologist Certification by the ARRT; ACLS and CPR
- Experience: Two years of interventional/cath lab experience required. Three (3) years of invasive cardiac experience preferred.; Experience with STEMI care
- Equipment Operated: All ionizing radiation equipment associated with STEMI care in the cath lab
- Communication Skills: Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact)
- Other Skills: Medical Terms, PC
- Work Schedule: Weekends, Holidays, Flexible, On-Call
