Maintenance Tech/Porter Job Description
Apartment Community located in Uniontown, PA is seeking to hire a maintenance technician to join our team! You will enjoy a busy work environment, PTO (accruing 11 days your first year), company paid medical insurance, paid holidays, and yearly bonuses/increases based on the company's overall growth!! This is a 35-hour work week.
You will be responsible for assisting Maintenance Superintendent with daily work orders, turning vacant apartments, cleaning units once maintenance is completed, clean common areas/bathrooms, assist with inventory of supplies, disposing of trash, assist with preventative maintenance and inspections and notifying Property Manager of any issues. You should be able to lift 30-50 pounds.
There is an on-call aspect to this position and it will be rotated every other week with the Maintenance Superintendent. This will be for any emergencies outiside of normal business hours and weekends if needed.
Responsibilities:
- Completion of daily work orders.
- Assist with preventative maintenance for building.
- Assist with maintaining supply inventory.
- Quickly complete all maintenance issues with vacant units that need to be turned in a timely manner.
- Clean and stock restrooms.
- Clean up spills with appropriate equipment.
- Notify managers of necessary repairs.
- Collect trash and clean trash containers. Dispose of trash in a sanitary manner.
- Clean wash basins, mirrors, laundry equipment.
- Maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition.
- Monitor and report necessary repairs and replacements.
- Clean corridors, lobbies, stairways, elevators.
- Follow all company safety and security procedures.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards.
- Observe and report damage of property.
Requirements:
- Ability to manage your time efficiently.
- Work well unsupervised.
- Proficient with hand tools, basic electrical and plumbing.
- Ability to lift at least 25-50 pounds.
- Handle basic maintenance and cleaning.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and interact positively with tenants.
- Team player.
- Working knowledge of operating cleaning equipment.
- Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bend
- ability to lift, push and pull required load (usually about 30lbs).
