Payroll & Benefits Specialist will represent Human Resources in various capacities by communicating information, monitoring, and processing paperwork for District Clerk employees, such as W-4 changes, name changes and verification of employment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process payroll for all full-time employees while verifying that all payroll reports are accurate.
- Process all benefit updates and new hires insurance for all full-time employees.
- Interacts with all levels of management and employees regarding payroll, benefit inquiries and other Organizational updates.
- Assists with Job Fairs and with the High School Internship Program.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- Four (4) years of related experience in a Human Resources environment
- Must possess knowledge of STARS (PeopleSoft)
- Must possess at least two (2) years of Payroll experience
- Must have excellent presentation, analytical, decision-making, prioritization, and organizational skills
- Must be capable of working under stress and managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Assists with employee and retiree inquiries regarding all aspects of benefits, retirement, and wellness.
- Must be able to work overtime without prior notice and work flexible hours as required
- Must be able to maneuver, including lifting and moving a minimum of thirty (30) pounds
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work independently and make sound decisions while meeting time-sensitive deadlines
- Must have knowledge and be able to interpret the laws, regulations and policies that govern Human Resources issues
- Must be eligible for employment in the United States
- Testing will be required
