We’ve designed our program to expose students to career opportunities with Harris County and apply what they have learned in the classroom to hands-on projects. P4FIP provides students the chance to bridge the gap between academic understanding and practical professional experience. Interns will create a community to help support their personal and professional development throughout the summer as they launch their career. Interns will work with a mentor, form relationships with other interns, and engage our Senior Leadership Team.
Position Summary:
The IT Intern will work with a Technical Support Specialist to support the daily operational activities of our IT Team and IT project support. The Intern is responsible for responding to help-desk requests submitted via our online ticket support system, emails, phone calls, and in-person visits. The Intern will also provide project support to help maintain, modernize, and grow the organization’s technology infrastructure.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Respond to help-desk tickets in a service-oriented manner, including hardware, software, and general support.
- Set up new computers with user profiles and security.
- Assist IT staff with mobile device management.
- Assist IT with Windows Active Directory & Entra ID management.
- Distribute and collect equipment within Precinct 4’s boundaries when required.
- Test, troubleshoot, and implement systems.
- Maintain and audit physical technology inventory.
- Perform other duties as needed.

- Must have a high school diploma or equivalency.
- Must have proficiency in Microsoft software applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Share Point.
