Position Overview:
The Diabetes Prevention Program Supervisor is responsible for the oversight and supervision of the Diabetes Prevention Program day-to-day operations and staff. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality diabetes prevention programs to Harris County residents and fostering relationships with community partners.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Supervise, develop, support, and evaluate program staff to ensure adherence to established procedures, quality standards, and timeliness while managing daily program operations.
- Utilizes evidence-based diabetes prevention/management curriculum to instruct, manage, and facilitate lifestyle education to the community.
- Plans and conducts outreach activities, including attending partnership meetings and community events, to enhance program engagement and participation.
- Develops and maintains partnerships with Harris County community organizations in order to launch education sessions and ensure successful participation within the community.
- Records and monitors participant data, including number of participants seen. Tracks progress toward program goals and ensures documentation is accurate and completed timely.
- Reviews records and reports pertaining to program activities, evaluates performance for program activities and employees, and makes adjustments as needed.
- Stays updated on the latest research, approaches, theories, and practices in pre-diabetes and diabetes management.
- Performs other duties as assigned including special tasks involved with responding to emergency events.

Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, public health, or related field.
- At least two (2) years of experience working directly in public health, nutrition and/or dietetics.
- At least one (1) year of experience supervising program activities and staff.
- Valid Texas Driver's License.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and foster teamwork in a diverse environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information.
- Ability to work well with public and staff members.
- Ability to obtain and filter information, identify, and address key issues relevant to the achievement of strategic organizational goals

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:
- This is a full-time | grant-funded position
- Days and hours of work are typically Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
- Must be willing to flex work hours when required, including weekends
- Expected to travel within Harris County jurisdiction
- This job operates in both a professional office and community environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
- This role requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds and bending & standing for periods at a time.
