Under the direction of the Assistant Director, the Center Manager oversees all aspects of day to day community center operations. Responsibilities include the safety, leadership, management, and supervision of the center.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually average.
Physical Demands
Essential functions involve significant physical demands related to repeated lifting of up to 50 pounds unassisted, 100 pounds with assistance rarely; carrying tools, materials, and equipment over rough terrain; climbing, reaching, and bending. Frequently walk, sit, talk, drive, hear, bend, stoop, twist, and balance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maximizing constituent participation within the center.
- Controls financial cost, labor cost and center expenses, monitors and corrects inventory; operates within established budgets.
- Identifies partners in our community who can assist us in building the brand of Precinct 2 and center programs.
- Maintains a clean, well-organized center; facilitates a safe and secure working and constituent environment.
- Familiarizes self with facility, security, rules, and regulations and enforces accordingly.
- Follows Precinct 2, city, and state guidelines and procedures in all areas of the business, including food safety and sanitation.
- Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to federal and state labor laws and company policies; ensures the center is properly staffed.
- Provides proper training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; identifies gaps for appropriate solutions and/or counseling, up to and including termination.
- Communicates performance, conducts, and safety expectations regularly.
- Coordinates meetings and events to encourage safety, security, and policies.
- Required to work during a business closure in order to meet operational requirements.

- Associates Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Business Administration or a closely related field, and
- Two (2) years of experience involving recreational programming.
- Education and Experience may substitute for each other on a year for year basis.
- Must be able to obtain Food Managers certification within 90 days of employment.
- Must be able to obtain CPR/First Aid and AED certification within 90 days of employment.
- Proficient working knowledge of computers and related software comprised of CIVICREC, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and office equipment.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Works to create a safe, secure, and healthy work environment for fellow employees.
- Works with staff to accomplish all goals.
- You will be required to demonstrate a high level of professionalism, with excellent communication skills.
- You must have the ability to take initiative and possess skills for problem-solving and conflict resolution.
- You also must be efficient and detail-oriented with a strong customer/constituent focus.
