The Health & Safety Coordinator develops, implements, and monitors workplace safety programs to ensure regulatory compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), prevent accidents, and promote a safe environment. Requirements
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
Three (3) to five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in an administrative or coordinator role.
Preferred
Progressively responsible experience in construction safety, occupational health, safety administration and training, or infrastructure project compliance.
Hands-on experience enforcing OSHA standards in multi-contractor environments.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Light work – Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of forces greater than that of sedentary work and if the worker sits most of the time, the job is considered light work.

- Creates and oversees safety programs, emergency action plans – egress, and site-specific protocols. Creates and maintains a project-tracking log that documents Notice to Proceed (NTP) dates, contractors and subcontractors names, project start and end dates, and the assigned Project Manager.
- Maintains records (OSHA logs, incident reports, SDSs), ensures compliance posters are displayed, and reports to management/risk management. Ensures management and continuous availability of PPE for HCTRA employees, including maintaining inventory logs, monitoring stock levels, and coordinating timely issuance.
- Interacts with other HCTRA staff members to review and monitor construction contracts, agreements, and other legal documents ensuring documentation and compliance requirements. Acts as a primary contact between HCTRA employees, supervisors, management, contractors, and subcontractors through enforcement of OSHA, State, and Federal standards.
- Designs and delivers safety training for HCTRA employees on topics including hazard recognition, proper PPE use, and emergency procedures while maintaining accurate training records within Quickbase Health & Safety database.
- Manages incident and accident details as reported by HCTRA contractors and subcontractors, documenting details of accidents, injuries, and near-miss events, conducting root-cause reviews, and recommending appropriate corrective actions.
