Job Description
As a Full-Time Generator Installation Technician, you will be responsible for installing and servicing standby generator systems and associated control systems. This technician should also be able to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues and perform any necessary repairs and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Install residential and commercial standby generator systems and related equipment
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair generator system issues
- Conduct routine maintenance and system testing to ensure proper operation
- Ensure all installations comply with safety standards and regulations
- Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and inventory documentation
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and professionally
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1-2 years of installing, servicing, or repairing generator systems
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to read technical diagrams and installation manuals
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various weather conditions
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, and safety procedures
- EPA, electrical, or generator manufacturer certifications are a plus
Work Conditions
- Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of heavy equipment and materials
- Ability to climb ladders, work in tight spaces, and stand, kneel, bend, or crouch for extended periods
- Exposure to electrical systems, mechanical equipment, noise, dust, and varying temperatures
- Use of hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and safety gear on a regular basis
- Travel to residential and commercial job sites throughout the service area may be required
- Occasional overtime, evening, or weekend work may be necessary based on installation schedules or emergency service needs
- Must follow all company safety procedures and local, state, and federal regulations
Salary and Benefits
- $30.00 - $35.00 per hour. The final compensation package will be commensurate with experience and demonstrated skill level.
