Senior Project Manager – Healthcare Construction (Electrical Systems)
A well-established electrical contractor with a long history supporting complex healthcare and commercial projects is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee major hospital builds and renovations. This leader will own project performance, guide multi-disciplinary teams, and serve as the primary point of coordination with owners and internal stakeholders.
This role reports to a senior operations leader and carries responsibility for financial outcomes, schedule performance, quality delivery, and team development across one major project or several mid-sized assignments.
Role Summary
The Senior Project Manager is accountable for the full lifecycle of assigned healthcare projects, from early planning through turnover. This includes managing budgets, evaluating risks, leading project teams, and maintaining rigorous adherence to safety and quality standards. The role also contributes to organizational growth by strengthening operational excellence, mentoring project staff, and ensuring alignment with company culture and long-term objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Execution
• Lead all phases of healthcare construction projects, including preconstruction, execution, commissioning, and closeout.
• Serve as the daily owner interface and primary decision-maker for project cost, schedule, and scope within defined guidelines.
• Maintain compliance with contract requirements, hospital standards, codes, and all relevant regulations.
• Oversee project setup, procurement planning, schedule development, and resource planning with field leadership.
Financial & Contract Management
• Manage project profit/loss, financial forecasting, and monthly reporting.
• Lead subcontractor scope review, negotiations, and buyout processes.
• Review and process owner and subcontractor change requests promptly and accurately.
• Support the development of pricing proposals, including GMP packages when required.
Team & Stakeholder Coordination
• Direct and mentor Project Managers, Superintendents, and project support staff.
• Partner closely with estimating, operations leadership, business development, and HR to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Conduct regular meetings with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve cost, schedule, and coordination issues.
• Guide hospital clients through system turnover, commissioning, and documentation requirements.
Safety, Quality & Performance
• Enforce project-specific safety plans and ensure a culture of safe practices across all phases.
• Drive execution of quality control processes and verification activities.
• Prepare and deliver comprehensive monthly status updates to owners and internal management.
• Oversee consistent use of company project management systems, software, and reporting tools.
Talent Development & Leadership
• Coach and develop project staff to build future leadership capability.
• Participate in hiring, promotions, performance evaluations, and staffing decisions.
• Foster a business-minded approach to project delivery across the team.
Required Background
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent technical experience considered.
• 10 years of experience in commercial construction, with at least 2 years at an electrical contractor.
• Strong track record delivering large hospital projects or major healthcare campuses.
• Deep understanding of electrical systems installation within an active or ground-up healthcare environment.
• Advanced competency in project scheduling, cost control, safety management, and contract administration.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and complex construction documents.

Salary : $150,000 - $190,000
