What You'll Do Here
- Get involved in Harriman’s face-paced design environment to provide support for our civil engineering and land development projects.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, landscape architects, and architectural team members within our full-service firm.
- Develop and support our design through site layout, grading, storm drainage, utility design, environmental design, facility planning, roadway design, and permitting for a variety of project types including educational facilities, municipal facilities, retail and mixed-use developments, and more.
- Manage projects and staff on certain projects as appropriate.
- Complete engineering calculations for grading, drainage design, storm-water modeling, erosion and sediment control, and stormwater permitting.
- Participate in facility assessment and prepare technical reports and assessments.
- Produce engineering documents and civil engineering specifications, including permitting documents for state and local permits.
- Support projects during construction administration phase.
- Be given opportunities to learn and grow your skills as a civil engineer and a design professional.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience preferred
- Professional engineering license, with ability to obtain State of Maine license within 3 months.
- Experience designing and permitting in Maine, New Hampshire, or Massachusetts.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain client relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and develop detailed construction documents and specifications.
- Knowledge of design and analysis software including AutoCad, Civil 3D and HydroCAD is preferred.
- Willingness to actively engage in professional engineering organizations such as ASCE, ACEC, and others.
- A collaborative spirit and desire to work closely with teams of designers

- Love of design, and desire to contribute to the built environment in a real way.
