What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Assistant position at Harpeth Valley Animal Hospital?
We are a busy 2 doctor small animal practice looking for a part time Kennel Assistant to join our team and to provide quality care for our animals. The Kennel Assistant will be responsible for providing daily care for the animals, including feeding, cleaning, and exercising along with maintenance of the kennel. Experience in the field is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person. The candidate must have a passion for animals and their well being and should have excellent customer service skills. This position involves moderate physical labor but is very rewarding to work with the animals. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a team of dedicated professionals in a fast-paced environment.
Work schedule consists of 1-3 afternoons (3-5:30), every Friday (8-5:30) and every other weekend (7:00-12 then Saturday night and Sunday morning and evening).
Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain kennels and cages.
- Provide food and water to animals.
- Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor animal behavior and health.
- Bathe and trim nails as needed.
- Provide exercise for animals.
- Do laundry as needed.
