Play a pivotal role in the Zondervan Academic publishing program, partnering with the scholarly community in providing resources for use in the academy and global church. The Marketing Manager for Zondervan Academic is a strategic and tactical leader responsible for developing integrated marketing plans and advancing our most important digital marketing channels.

Responsibilities
- Develop detailed marketing campaigns for new titles, from concept through execution; manage budgets for assigned titles
- Direct titling strategy, cover design, creative collateral, endorsements, consumer messaging, metadata, and more for new titles
- Execute the marketing strategy for key digital learning platforms and partners; this includes
- Zondervan Academic MasterLectures, Online Courses, and Enhanced Editions
- Speak into and execute the strategy for core marketing channels, focusing especially on email and automation, content marketing, video, SEO, and ZondervanAcademic.com
- Coordinate marketing efforts with publicists on selected frontlist campaigns
- Lead display and promotion at select events or conferences to support authors and product sales
- Participate in sales conference, ZA imprint strategy meetings, and potential external partner presentations
- Assist supervisor in tracking metrics of academic marketing tactics; monthly reporting to department leaders
- Analyze marketing campaigns and overall efforts; make recommendations for adjustments and improvements based on those results
- Continuously strive to make our academic marketing program more effective and deliver a strong ROI
Qualifications
Knowledge: 5 years’ experience in marketing, publicity, or other communications field
Work Experience: Background in academic publishing, Christian publishing, or marketing/sales, preferred
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Publicity, or equivalent experience. Preferred: graduate-level work in biblical studies, theology, or related field; or MBA-level coursework
Industry Knowledge:
- Working knowledge of Christian higher education and scholarship, preferred
- Experience with digital strategy, email marketing, social media, direct marketing
- Solid understanding of Bible, theology, relevant influential authors
Skills:
- Expert understanding of core marketing functions and skills
- Ability to effectively communicate and network with scholars and key academic contacts
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to hit budgets and forecast expenses
- Sales experience with higher education markets
- Strong computer skills—Word and Excel
- Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to participate in team process
