Job Summary
The Shipping and Receiving Clerk supports daily shipping and receiving operations, handling both domestic and international shipments. This role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency with ERP systems, and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines while coordinating with Sales and other internal teams to ensure accurate, on-time deliveries.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process and ship domestic and international orders, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and on-time delivery.
- Select shipping methods and carriers; verify quantities, weights, dimensions, and documentation against bills of lading, invoices, purchase orders, and work orders.
- Receive, inspect, and document inbound shipments; identify and report damaged, incorrect, or short shipments.
- Perform accurate ERP transactions for receipts, shipments, inventory movements, and RMAs.
- Process Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) in accordance with established procedures.
- Coordinate with Sales, Customer Service, and internal teams regarding schedules, shortages, and problem orders.
- Package, label, and prepare materials to customer specifications and shipping requirements.
- Wrap, palletize, and load shipments; operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed (preferred).
- Maintain accurate records while working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Regularly lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Requirements
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Proven ability to work under pressure with strong time management and attention to detail
- Ability to speak, read, and follow written instructions and work orders in English
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience with domestic and international shipping operations
- ERP system experience required, RMA processing experience preferred
- Forklift operation experience or certification preferred
Work Environment / Physical Demands:
- Primarily warehouse environment
- Requires standing, lifting, moving packages, sitting
- Often exposed to loud, bustling or dusty environments
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
