- Current IL Licensed Massage Therapist credential required. Current Board Certified for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (BCTMB) credential preferred.
- 1-year experience as a practicing Massage Therapist within the last 3-years required. 2-years experience preferred.
- Graduate of a Massage Therapy program with at least 600-hours of training required. 30-college credits beyond massage therapy training preferred.
- Knowledge of clinical Massage Therapy safety protocols and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and Massage Therapy laboratory equipment.
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards and promoting a positive learning environment.
Harper College welcomes applicants for the role of Clinical Supervisor in the Massage Therapy department for the Spring of 2024 semester. Clinical Lab Supervisors proctor in the new Massage Therapy Skills Lab for students to practice massage techniques, palpation skills, draping, and additional skills learned in massage therapy lab courses. Skills to be supervised should not exceed those taught in foundational classes. Skills Lab sessions are held during the day, evening, and Saturday sessions on the Palatine Campus. Clinical Supervisors are hired for the new Skills Lab on a semester-by-semester as-needed basis and hours may vary by semester according to student schedules.

- Laboratory Preparation: Prepare laboratory materials, equipment, and supplies for scheduled Massage Therapy Skills Lab sessions.
- Assistance During Sessions: Assist faculty and students during laboratory sessions by providing guidance, demonstrations, and technical support as needed.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of laboratory equipment. Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs as necessary.
- Inventory Management: Maintain an accurate inventory of laboratory supplies, and equipment. Monitor stock levels and coordinate procurement as needed.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to established safety protocols and guidelines within the laboratory setting. Provide instruction to students on proper safety procedures and practices according to Harper College Massage Therapy Program standards.
- Documentation and Recordkeeping: Maintain detailed records of Massage Therapy Skills Lab activities, including attendance.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with faculty and other staff members to develop and implement laboratory exercises, experiments, and demonstrations that support the educational objectives of the Massage Therapy Program and adhere to academic standards of Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA).
- Student Support: Provide support and assistance to MTP students as they engage in Massage Therapy Skills Lab activities. Offer guidance on laboratory techniques, procedures, and best practices.
- Quality Assurance: Assist with quality assurance initiatives to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of laboratory procedures and results.
- Professional Development: Stay informed about advancements in laboratory techniques, equipment, and technologies relevant to the field of Massage Therapy. Participate in professional development activities as appropriate.
- Open Lab : Provide students with opportunities for open lab, in collaboration with program coordinator and monitor attendance at open lab.
