The number of adjunct instructors hired varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the department. Your application can remain "Under Review by Committee" for 18 months. You may check your status at any time by logging into jobs.harpercollege.edu with your username and password.
Job Description: Adjunct Faculty instructors are responsible for course planning and instruction in classroom, lab, and clinical settings. Courses may be conducted in various delivery modes, such as, face-to-face, on-line, hybrid and/or blended formats. In addition, adjunct faculty are responsible for timely and accurate submission of student grades, responding to student concerns, and other required paperwork related to instruction. Must have flexibility in the scheduling of class hours, including days, evenings, weekends and delivery methods.
Education Requirements:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in aviation or a related field from an accredited institution and two years of professional aviation teaching experience; or, have an associate degree, and five years of professional aviation teaching experience; or, hold a Flight Instructor's credential, A&P credentials and/or other FAA approved credentials.
Experience Requirements:
- Experience working in diverse settings.
- In addition to in-person classroom instructions, ability to teach remotely with technology and experience in online or virtual teaching.
