We are seeking a Project Controls Lead to join our team and establish a brand-new department within the organization. Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with Division Management to support day-to-day cost reporting, tracking, and forecasting for the most demanding projects.
- Conduct daily and weekly reviews of project cost data, ensuring accuracy and flagging potential issues for resolution.
- Take the initiative to correct or reallocate erroneous cost data and follow through to completion.
- Partner with Accounts Receivable to follow up on monthly billing and ensure timely payments.
- Lead the project closeout process, including reconciling final costs and aligning contracts.
- Resolve outstanding vendor and subcontractor invoices promptly and efficiently.
- Prepare and distribute daily and weekly cost reports for review by Division Management and the executive team.
- Execute Purchase Orders and Subcontract Change Orders to reconcile quantities and costs.
- Present cost reports using Trimble Viewpoint and other reporting tools, creating custom Excel-based reports as necessary.
- Assist in data entry for Change Orders, Purchase Orders, and Subcontract Ledgers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Support cost forecasting, cost analysis, and materials tracking to inform decision-making.
- Participate in operational tracking activities, such as monitoring equipment downtime, dispatching trucks, and tracking utilization metrics.
- Export and analyze data from B2W and other systems, preparing detailed reports for Division Managers and executives.
- Assist Accounts Payable in resolving invoice concerns and coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors as needed.
- Prepare and facilitate monthly cost reviews, presenting key metrics such as current and forecasted costs, Purchase Order status, and subcontractor performance.
- Reconcile cost data between B2W software and Viewpoint on a monthly basis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in project cost controls or analysis within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction cost accounting and GAAP principles.
- Proficiency in Trimble Viewpoint and HCSS software preferred.
- Familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI and advanced Excel functionalities.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a solution-oriented mindset.
- Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites or offices.
