Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic pharmacy team. The Certified Pharmacy Technician will work closely with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to support patient service initiatives and enhance medication management.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, including IV infusions, while adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Conduct intake assessments for patients to ensure accurate medication records and address any concerns.
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering inquiries regarding medications, dosages, and side effects.
- Maintain accurate records of medication administration and patient care activities.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to support critical care initiatives and acute care management.
- Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with healthcare professionals regarding patient prescriptions and treatment plans.
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and standards of practice within the LTC environment.
- Participate in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and storing medications.
Skills
- Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferably in LTC or hospital settings.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care.
- Familiarity with IV infusion processes and aseptic techniques.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient service and care.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
