Position Summary:
Responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fitting or fixtures of heating, water or drainage systems in accordance with code specifications.
Qualifications:
- State issued Journeyman/Master License
- OSHA 10/30 Construction Certification
- Hot Work Safety Certification
Responsibilities:
- As a Licensed Pipefitter, you will work under the direction of company supervisors who will direct your daily activities at client sites
- These activities will include a wide range of mechanical disciplines, such as cutting and threading of pipe, assembling and installing industrial equipment, and fabrication and welding of structural members
- During the course of a normal work week, you may report to several different client sites
- As a team member you will represent the eyes and ears of the company, effectively communicating technical information, reinforcing high quality workmanship, and positively reinforcing the company safety goals
- Arriving at determined job sites on time and in proper condition to perform physical work
- Effectively take direction and ability to react to dynamic work environment
- Thorough understanding of the safe operation of mechanic position tooling
- Physical installation of industrial piping, mechanical equipment, and systems
- Effective communication with supervisor on project regarding productivity, scheduling, and safety issues
- Maintain clean work area
- Install, repair, and replace various commercial systems
- Adherence to all Safety Standards
- Other duties as assigned
Environmental Conditions:
- Field Service Environment
- Exposure to dust, other debris, smells associated with sewer/water, and sounds associated to power tools
- Extreme weather conditions
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment.
- Must be able to position one-self to work in confined spaces such as trenches, pits, manholes and tunnels.
- Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel crouch and/or crawl.
- Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 25/50/80 pounds regularly/occasionally.
- Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment for most of the day.
- Must be able to work in cold and/or hot environments.
