Our 2-year ThinkBig program teaches you how to service Caterpillar equipment using cutting-edge diagnostic and maintenance systems, advanced technologies and high-tech tools. ThinkBig combines classroom work with hands-on learning in the field and in state-of-the-art labs, so students see technologies in real-world applications.
This outstanding career development program will help build the foundation of your future as a Caterpillar technician. In time you will become specialized experts skilled in a variety of technologies such as electronically controlled engine, sophisticated computer based diagnostics, transmissions, hydraulics and more. As a Caterpillar technician you’ll be working on some of the biggest, hardest working machines in the world.
The ThinkBig program is a partnership between Portland Community College, Tractor & Equipment Co. and three other Caterpillar dealerships in the Northwest. Upon a successful completion of the program, students will earn an Associated Degree of Applied Science from PCC and join the Tractor & Equipment Co. family as a full time employee.
