Harmony Senior Services, a certified Great Place To Work and one the country’s fastest growing companies in the luxury senior living industry, is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join the team at its corporate office in historic Roanoke, VA. This position will be an 100% onsite position.
The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting financial and operational analysis that supports decision‑making across the Harmony senior living portfolio (independent living, assisted living, and memory care). This role requires strong financial modeling skills, deep understanding of core accounting, and the ability to connect financial insights to occupancy, care levels, labor, and operational drivers. An ideal candidate will be an initiative-taking and creative problem solver that plays a key role in enhancing management’s understanding of financial and operational results and aids in decision making through well-articulated communications and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor service lines and programs to evaluate adherence to established plans and goals, inclusive of in-depth variance and trend analysis.
- Conduct margin analysis by community and service line (dining, care, maintenance, etc.).
- Support month-end close through variance analysis and trend evaluation across communities.
- Partner with Finance peers to ensure accurate census-driven revenue recognition, accruals, and general ledger alignment.
- Participate in annual budgeting, including revenue projections, operating expenses, and capital planning.
- Collaborate directly with Community and Regional leaders to identify performance opportunities by providing cost-control insights designed to improve community-level profitability.
- Evaluate pricing strategies, concessions, discounts, and care‑level revenue opportunities.
- Consult with business areas to determine analytical needs and drive improvements in management reporting including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and dashboards.
- Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for senior leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CMA preferred but not required).
- 4–6 years of progressive experience in accounting, FP&A, or senior living finance.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and multi‑site operational accounting.
