The Director of Memory Care (DMC) reports directly to the Executive Director (ED) and is responsible for the overall leadership and daily operations of the Harmony Square neighborhood. This role is focused on creating and maintaining a safe, engaging, and person-centered environment for residents, while ensuring clinical compliance with all applicable regulatory standards. The DMC actively oversees resident safety, behavior expressions, routines, and support with activities of daily living (ADLs).
In close collaboration with the Healthcare Director, the DMC provides leadership and direction to medication technicians and nursing assistants, supporting the delivery of compassionate, high-quality care. As the designated process owner of the Harmony Square Points of Distinction, the HSD ensures the consistent implementation of the Dining with Dignity Program, daily engagement programming, and other core components that promote dignity, independence, and overall well-being.
Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:
- Level of formal Education: Current valid and unencumbered license to practice as an RN or LPN in the State in which the community is located.
- Areas of Study: Nursing. Experience in caring for geriatric individuals and those with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia strongly preferred.
- Years and type of Experience: 1-2 years’ experience required; 3 or more years' experience preferred.
- Special Certificates: Current CPR certification required. Dementia training or Certified Dementia Practitioner preferred or eligible for certification.
Skills & Abilities Required:
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including day, evening and night shift and weekends.
- Ability to be on-call after hours.
- Ability to act as the Manager-on-Duty on selected weekends
- Experience with Behavior Expressions redirection and interventions.
