Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced, dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our clinic. The ideal candidate will support clinical operations. The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in patient intake, vital signs collection, and documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems (Athenahealth). Responsibilities
- Perform patient intake procedures, including collecting medical history and documenting symptoms
- Measure and record vital signs accurately
- Assist with patient examinations and procedures in Primary Care settings
- Operate EHR systems (Athenahealth) efficiently for data entry and record keeping. Training will be provided
- Assist with ICD coding and documentation for billing purposes
- Ensure patient comfort and provide excellent patient service throughout their visit
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of clinical areas in compliance with safety standards
- Support administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling and insurance verification
Skills
- Fluent in Chinese Mandarin strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and patient care protocols
- Experience working in primary care or outpatient clinics experience is a plus
- Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) certification is preferred
- Proficiency with EHR systems (Athenahealth) is strongly preferred
- Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to care delivery
- Ability to handle intake procedures efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols within the scope of practice
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in fast-paced settings such as primary care or outpatient clinics
