Good Food Deli Lead

Hours: Full time, 32-40 hours, typical shift 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Some shifts include a weekend day (Sunday - Thursday)

Wage Range: $14–$18 per hour dependent on experience & skills.

The Good Food Deli at Harmony Food Co-op is looking for a Deli Lead to join our team. Our Deli is a busy, creative part of the store where we prepare food for our customers every day—from sandwiches, salads and grab-and-go meals to baked goods, specialty items and all the other good things that come out of our kitchen.

This isn't just a job stocking a case. It's a chance to help make food that people look forward to eating.

What You'll Do

As a Deli Lead, you’ll help keep our Deli running smoothly and our food looking and tasting its best. Your days may include:

• Preparing and packaging a variety of deli foods according to recipes and established standards
• Assembling sandwiches, salads, grab-and-go meals and other prepared foods
• Helping with baking and other kitchen projects
• Keeping displays and cases stocked, fresh and appealing
• Providing friendly, knowledgeable customer service
• Maintaining a clean, organized and food-safe work environment
• Washing dishes, cleaning equipment and completing other routine kitchen tasks
• Receiving, storing and rotating ingredients and supplies
• Working with the Deli team to keep production moving during busy periods
• Learning new recipes, techniques and skills along the way

• Works well with others and communicates clearly
• Can stay organized and productive when things get busy
• Is dependable, willing to learn and ready to pitch in wherever needed
• Cares about providing a genuinely good experience for our customers
• Can work comfortably on their feet and perform the physical requirements of a kitchen and retail environment

Previous deli, kitchen or food-service experience is a plus, but it isn't the only thing that matters. If you bring enthusiasm, reliability, a willingness to learn and a genuine interest in good food, we're happy to help you build the skills you need to succeed.
