Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Food and Supply Manager to join our team. As a Food and supply Manager, your primary responsibility is to foster an attitude of caring amongst staff and clients which results in the clients feeling at home and being treated with dignity and respect while meeting their immediate physical needs according to a physician prescribed diet. This will be accomplished through consistent role modeling and modeling of the implementation of company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Training staff on all aspects of dietary needs of clients based on their physician orders and registered dietician.
- Purchasing food product consistent with the diet prescribed by the registered dietician and according to scheduled menu.
- Ensure food packaging and storage is done according to approved food handler training.
- Ensure required food, check off list, menu, and recipes are in clearly labeled storage containers separated and labeled by day and meal.
- Purchase special request and snack food items weekly as requested by the clients/staff.
- Ensure proper rotation of all supplies to ensure oldest items are used first.
- Maintain food packaging and storage area in a clean and sanitary manner according to training.
- Keep inventory of needed food and cleaning/house supplies not related to medical house supplies.
- Remove excess food from each facility and work with staff to determine reason for excess.
-Purchase additional items as requested by management staff.
- Obtain any supplies needed to fulfill client's needs in a timely manner to ensure compliance with physician orders or notify administrator of reason item cannot be delivered.
-Ensure all meats are vacuum sealed and double bagged and delivered frozen.
-Assign items purchased to appropriate facility and subtotal each category by facility including appropriate sales tax.
-Create back up supply inventory at each facility and ensure adequate supplies are available to meet client and staff needs.
-Maintain food temperature logs.
-Stock/pull house supplies & OTC medications for staff supply closet (especially before day off).
-Check food supply & quality control according to the menu (food present/food used).
-Send weekly house supply list and OTC medication list
-Turn in purchasing receipts for the 1st-15th by the 20th of the month, 16th-31st by the 5th of the following month.
-Upkeep of the house emergency food/water supply.
Responsible for food preparation, kitchen training, food supply system, client's diets, and QA tool.
-Other supply duties as assigned.
-Ensure company vehicle is clean and well maintained.
-Address assigned portions of new hire orientation.
-Ensure that all in-services are communicated to the staff in a way that develops buy in and follow up with teaching, coaching, and training staff while on the floor.
-Monitor and respond to End of Shift Reports.
Qualifications:
-Must be 18 years and older
-BA in Health Science, Nutrition, or related field preferred. (Will substitute for experience).
-Must provide a copy of immunization record and current TB vaccination
-Must have a valid CA DMV driver license
-Must have reliable transportation to work
-Must have a positive attitude and be compassionate about helping and caring for others.
-Must have and maintain current Food Handler Certification
