Residential Project Designer (Design-Build)

Location: Hybrid – Indianapolis (Local Candidates Only)

Harmony Homes Co is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Designer to join our growing design-build team. This role bridges design and construction, offering a unique opportunity to be involved in projects from initial client consultation through construction execution.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both design and being in the field, is highly organized, and is excited to grow into a project management role over time.

ResponsibilitiesClient & Project Support

• Attend client meetings including site measures, design presentations, and project check-ins
• Build strong relationships with clients through clear communication and professionalism
• Assist in guiding clients through design decisions and project expectations

Design Support

• Assist in developing design concepts, selections, and presentations
• Support creation of preliminary budgets and project documentation
• Collaborate with lead designer to translate design intent into executable plans

Field & Construction Coordination

• Conduct site visits to document existing conditions and verify measurements
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors to support project execution
• Pick up and deliver materials as needed
• Ensure design intent is carried through during construction

Project Management Support

• Maintain and update project schedules in JobTread
• Track selections, orders, and project progress
• Assist in identifying and resolving project issues proactively
• Support ordering and procurement coordination

Requirements

• 1–5 years of experience in interior design, construction, or related field
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent communication skills and confidence interacting with clients
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to be in the field regularly (site visits, material pickups, etc.)
• Proficiency in design software (Revit)
• Reliable transportation for local travel

Job Details

• Job Types: Full-time, 1099 - Independent contractor
• Schedule: Monday to Friday (with some flexibility for site visits)
• Location: Hybrid in Indianapolis, IN (local travel required)

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
