We're looking for a part-time or full-time RN to join our team. The individual in this position will show outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills and act as an example to others in the facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adheres to and conveys the philosophy of supporting the dignity, privacy, independence, choice, and individuality of residents.
- Monitors the status of resident health conditions and initiates actions in response to the changing needs; conducts re-assessments of resident health needs as indicated.
- Maintains all resident assessments every six months or any significant changes.
- Implements care plans as defined in the assessment.
- Conduct and/or coordinate staff in-services and training, as requested.
- Responds to resident or staff concerns and reports them to the Executive Director and/or others as appropriate.
- Provides health counseling/education to residents as needed.
- Oversees or provides coordination with the house pharmacy and outside pharmacies used by residents.
- Response to emergency calls for assistance by residents.
- Oversee LNAs and caregivers by providing safe and effective nursing interventions.
- Conducts regular quality assurance reviews of staff documentation of medication/treatment assistance provided.
- Is on-call to respond to staff concerns and questions.
- Maintain safe and clean work areas and adhere to safety standards for the healthcare professional.
- Comply with all infection control, standard precautions, and OSHA standards for the healthcare professional.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Adhere to established HIPAA confidentiality standards of resident and client location information.
- Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.
- EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of principles necessary to provide competent nursing care.
- Understanding of the normal dosages, actions, and common side effects of most medications in common use.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
- Must work well with others, have effective training and supervisory skills, and be able to identify and address problems effectively.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have a current New Hampshire RN license with a minimum of one to two years experience working with older adults.
