Facilities Worker

Harmony Hill School (HHS), a private, non-profit residential treatment center and school for male youths aged 8 to 18 in Glocester, RI, has an immediate full time opening for a reliable, experienced Facilities Worker to join our team.This is a full time 40 hour/week position with a work schedule of 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday. The Facilities Worker will also participate in an on-call rotation with other members of the Facilities team.Job DutiesThe Facilities Worker will complete a variety of custodial duties and light maintenance to ensure that all campus buildings, grounds and recreational structures are well-maintained and provide a safe, clean and supportive environment for the youth in our care. Job duties will include:Perform custodian duties within select buildings to include regular cleaning of offices, stairwells, classrooms, bathrooms and dormitories.Clean and sanitize bathrooms and replenishing paper and soap dispensers.Vacuum and spot clean carpets. Scrub, strip, varnish and buff hard floor surfaces.Perform snow removal using snow blower, shoveling, sanding and salting of walkways and steps.Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs. Perform general repairs such as drywall, painting, doors, locks, building fixture that do not require a specialized technician.Perform routine and preventative maintenance of building systems and equipment as directed and in accordance with established standards and guidelines.Skills & AttributesStrong communication and collaboration skills along with the ability to prioritize tasks and be detail-oriented with strong problem solving skills.Strong work ethic with attention to detail and the ability to maintain high work standards of cleanliness and organization.Qualifications & RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent required. Additional trade training is preferred.Valid Driver's License required.1-3 years of relevant work experience is preferred.Physical requirements for this position include the ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods; full use and dexterity of hands/arms/legs/feet; climb ladders, bend, lift, and crawl into awkward spaces, must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.Must successfully complete required driving record, criminal and child abuse/neglect background screenings.Harmony Hill School is an equal opportunity employer.
